Shah Jahan

Although Shah Jahan hails from India, he has lived most of his life outside India. From the very young age, he has developed deep interest in nature and wildlife. He spent his free time doing research on wildlife especially birds. In 2004, while he was working in Information Technology sector, he decided to take bird watching as a serious hobby and since then he has recorded most of his sightings in a very scientific way.

In 2005 he started doing photography when ever possible. He also started travelling to different countries in order to see more birds. In 2011 he decided to quit his job due to some personal issues and decided to be more active in wildlife related issues. Another thing that made him take this decision is his urge to make a documentary about the birds. Since 2011 Shah Jahan has videographed more than 600 species of birds and around 25 species of mammals. The list include from the tallest flying bird, Sarus Crane to the one of the smallest birds in the world, the Crimson-backed Sunbird also known as Little Sunbird. He has videographed a number of mammals during this period. The list includes Asiatic Lions, African Lions, Leopards, Pikas, Thars, etc.

His favorite group of birds are Owls and Nightjars. For him, birding is not just a passion, it is part of his life.

The following are some of his videos that are available in YouTube and Vimeo.
