We saw the Himalayan Bluetail for the first time during our GIBT 2018 – CS at Chopta. Later it was also found at Nalsarovar area.

Blue Whistling Thrush is a ground feeding Thrush main seen in Central Asia, China and Southern Asia. As the name suggests, the Blue Whistling Thrush’s calls are like human whistle.
Blue Whistling Thrushes are a common species of birds in most of the Himalayas.

Grey Treepie, Dendrocitta formosae, is also known as Himalayan Treepie is a close relative to crows. They are mainly seen in the foothills of Himalayas, some parts of China and Taiwan.
Even though I have seen Grey Treepie quite a few times, this was the first time I have taken photograph of them. During our trip GIBT 2018 – CS we saw quite a few of them.
Black-headed Jay
Black-headed Jay is a bird found in Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal and Bhutan.
Durig our GIBT 2018 – CS trip, we found the bird in Sattal. Only one bird was observed during the whole trip. The bird which we say had a broken (or deformed) upper bill.
